William Steig

One of my favorite cartoonists ever is William Steig. He wrote Shrek, The Amazing Bone, Grownups Get to Do All the Driving... Dominic...Abel's Island & on & on. He conveyed human emotion succinctly & eloquently. I've loved CDB & CDC? since I was seven. My 2nd grade teacher gave them to me & I thought they were absolutely brilliant. They have stayed with me. In fact, Wm. was way ahead of his time. I like this language for text messaging.

Blue Skies

I went kayaking yesterday - my new favorite sport! I won't tell where I went. It's a secret. But it looked a bit like this:

water - perfect
weather - perfect
ducks & wildflowers, Great Blue Heron too - perfect

Since the smoke has abated my friend was singing this -

Blue skies smilin' at me

A Couple More Treasures

Millefiori paperweights fetch quite a bit. Who knew? It is English full-lead crystal & flawless. This one has 53 watchers & 3 bids with 5 days remaining. Happy day!

This is my style. Frankoma bowl, Prairie Green matte glaze. The #201 refers to the mold, not the age. I learned something new. this bowl is also flawlless & it's impossible to convey the beauty of the glaze finish...

Royal Copenhagen Annual Mugs -

Sometimes I help people sell their belongings. Today I went through a box of these - a collection that began in the late 60s & continued through the early 80s. The mugs were made in two sizes; these are the smaller size. Each year the mug was designed by a different artist. I'd like these three, in order of preference from the top. Another virtual collection!
