A nice surprise this morning; when I woke up I looked out the window & saw several Northern Flickers - both male & female. I watched them breakfast for quite a while. What a beautiful bird.
As a bonus there were a couple of Rufus-sided Towhees there.
Such an enjoyable beginning.

We have a couple flickers that hang out in our back yard sometimes. They are one of my favorites along with buy jays. Hard to beat orange and blue feathers, huh? You always take such good photos but the ones of the birds are stunning.
