Eames Stamps; Tuesday, June 17

A friendly inside source at the USPS (code name Vo) has informed me that tomorrow is the issue date for the new pane* of sixteen .42 stamps celebrating the designs of Charles & Ray Eames. Walk, don't run (I want to get there before you) to the Post Office tomorrow.

If you happen to be in the Santa Monica area you may attend the official USPS dedication ceremony from 11a.m. - 1 p.m. Stamps and sheets of stamps with all 16 stamp designs will be sold at the celebration. Also available are first-day-of-issue hand cancellations with a special Santa Monica Post Office First-Day-of-Issue cancellation design. This event will be held at the Eames Office, 850 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica.

You are too funny. Are you going to buy a sheet to frame or get your own set of "first-day-of-issue-cancellation-design"? They are quite cool, and much cooler than what I've seen the P.O. come out with lately...

I'll have my pane of Eames stamps as soon as I can get my hands on them.

You know what I like about the Eames, beside their incredible creations? In every photo I've seen, they are working together and appear to be having fun... yes, fun! And, as you certainly can attest, fun is always in style!

Commenting from my stylish and functional MacBook, lounging in my Eames era chair, surrounded by furnishing and art, inspired by that amazing couple... you can check out a couple of my posts:
