Thumb Socks

Here's a random piece of history; I came across it in my sewing box today. It's called a thumb sock, & it's almost guaranteed to help your child quit sucking his or her thumb. Awww, it's so cute. & little. The 'sock' fit over the thumb, & the elastic strap went across the palm. I think they did help...who wants to put a little sock in their mouth?

Are we just on the same wavelength or what? I took Cole to the orthodontist this week and he said that from sucking his thumb, Cole's front teeth are pushing outward and his bottom teeth are going in and to the side. He only sucks his thumb when he goes to sleep at night and we've been putting BANDAIDS on his thumb to remind him not to do it. This is a very interesting idea. Could I get an 8 year old to wear something like this?

some of my kids were still sucking their thumb at night at Cole's age. They would go to sleep & then pop their thumb in their mouth even if they were trying not to. They did wear their thumb sock; although it might be on the floor in the morning.
